There’s power in assessing the cost of the positive things that we pursue in our lives. Whether we are wanting to establish a new habit or change behavior or achieve a goal or enrich a relationship, knowing what we are sacrificing can strengthen our resolve in accomplishing what we set our minds to do.
Striving to be Original
All of us want to be original, but endeavoring to be so can kill our creativity and run us into a of ditch of procrastination. But that doesn’t mean we should blatantly plagiarize or take on loan either. Like the Smiths point out in Cemetery Gates, “…there’s always someone, somewhere with a big nose, who knows…”. However, there is nothing new under the sun, like the old book says. If you are inspired by an idea, run with it and put your own unique mark on it. Don’t worry if it has been said a million times before. It hasn’t been said by you, yet.
